JUST IN: Appeal Court President Replaced On Presidential Election Petition Tribunal

PRESIDENT OF THE COURT OF APPEAL, JUSTICE ZAINAB BULKACHUWA
Justice M. L Garba of the Lagos division of the Court of Appeal has been appointed to so replace the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, as the head of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

It would be recalled that Justice Garba is the presiding Justice of the Appellate Court in Lagos.

He appeared on the five-man panel for the first time today (Monday).

Prior to this time, Justice Bulkachuwa had withdrawn from the panel on May 22 consequent upon the  allegation of likelihood of bias made against her by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate in the February 23 presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Specifically, the petitioners are questioning the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Congress, APC, in the election.

There are three other petitioners challenging the outcome of the poll.
