Soccer War: Chief Of Army Staff, Buratai, Set To Lace Boots With Actors Guild All Stars

Preparations are on top gear ahead of a novelty match between the Emeka Rollas’ led Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, and the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Burutai’s led Nigerian army.

Based on the assurance by Lieutenant General Burutai to partner with the AGN Actors in projecting a positive image for the country when the guild recently paid him a courtesy call in Abuja, the Nigerian army and the Guild are now preparing for a friendly match to further boost their relationship.

Recall that the Actors Guild presented the Chief of Army staff an award for his achievements in national defence and security while requesting for security for its members in volatile region of the country especially the north east when filming. 

The Guild had also requested for a novelty match between senior officers of the Nigerian army and Nollywood stars.

The soccer match scheduled to hold on Thursday, July 4, at the Military Cantonment Ikeja, the president of AGN, Ejezie Emeka Rollas who is the captain of  the stars has approved a 36-man list by the coach, John Okafor a.k.a Mr. Ibu.

Currently, the AGN team is already in camp struggling for shirts. 

They include, Mr. Ibu, Charles Inojie, Remmy Ohajianya, Segun Arinze, Ejike Asiegbu, Emeka Rollas, Sony McDon, Chinyere Wilfred, Moji Oyetayo, Steve Eboh, Harry B Anyanwu, Frank Dallas, Ijeomah Imoh, St. Maradona, Sani Danja, Chief Chika Zebrudaya Okpala, Hon. Desmond Elliot, Halima Usman, Chinedu Ikedieze, Hakeem Rahman, Chiege Alisigwe, A.B Cowboy, Benedict Johnson, Doris Ogala, Ifeoma Okeke, Sharon Francis, Tricia Obi, Nkechi Nnaji, Mary Jane Okoye, Gentle Jack, Monalisa Chinda – Coker, Jumai Joseph, Ebele Okaro, Inem Peter, Rachael Oniga and Shasha Donald.

It was also gathered that General Burutai who is the captain of the Nigerian army is also set with his team for the friendly match.
