Taraba Police Killing: President Buhari Orders Defence HQ To Commence Immediate Investigation(s)

CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF, GENERAL GABRIEL OLONISAKIN

The Defence Headquarters has been directed to begin an immediate investigation into the incident involving the troops of 93 Battalion, Takum, Taraba, which culminated into the death of three police officers and a civilian.
The directive came from Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, made this known while addressing State House Correspondents in Abuja, Nigeria, at the end of the meeting of the National Security Council, NSC, presided by the President.

It would be recalled that the Army and Police authorities had on Wednesday constituted a Joint Investigation Panel to investigate the incident.

Specifically, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa, had in a statement yesterday (Wednesday) explained that the panel would be headed by the Deputy Inspector General, DIG, of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation Department, Mike Ogbizi.
