KWSG Pledges Quick Solution To Leaked Water Pipe In Geri Alimi

ILORIN, KWARA STATE, NIGERIA - The Kwara State Government said a team of engineers from the Ministry of Water Resources has been despatched to Geri Alimi round-about to rectify a damaged large water pipe.

The 800mm-sized facility got leaked few days ago, resulting in water being deflected around the place.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, Dr. Garba Majo, made the clarification on Wednesday.

He said the ministry immediately mobilised engineers to the site of the damage once information about the leak got to the government.

He explained that since the problem is water related, there has been joint efforts between his office and that of Ministry of Water Resources to evacuate the water and replace the faulty pipe.

Majo, while attributting the leakage to unusual volume of water passing  through the pipe, dismissed the speculations in some quarters that the pipe used for the work was substandard.

He appealed to the public to be calm, regretting the discomfort this might have been causing them.
