Economic Forum: President Muhammadu Buhari To Be Out Of Nigeria For Three Weeks


ABUJA, NIGERIA -  Except for any last minute change, Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari will depart the country today, Moday, October 28, 2019, for the purposes of attending the Economic Forum of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh.

According to a statement issued by Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and publicity to President Buhari, it revealed that the President will hold bilateral talks with His Majesty King Salman and His Majesty King Abdullah ll of Jordan.

The statement further made public that on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari will be part of the high level event captioned: “What is Next for Africa: How will Investment and Trade Transform the Continent into the Next Great Economic Success Story?” with Presidents of Kenya, Congo-Brazzaville and Burkina Faso.

Femi Adesina said: "At the end of the summit, President Buhari will on Saturday 2nd November, 2019, proceed to the United Kingdom on a private visit. 

"He is expected to return to Nigeria on 17th November, 2019."

It would be recalled that in an earlier statement issued on Sunday, October 27, 2019, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, Garba Shehu, had disclosed that the President will proceed to Mecca after the Riyadh forum.
