BENIN, EDO STATE, NIGERIA - No fewer than seven persons were on Saturday (today) morning killed in a fatal auto crash which involved the advance team of the Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki on Benin-Auchi Expressway.

Those killed according to our correspondent includes five adults and two children.

Our correspondent further learnt that many others including one of the drivers to the governor were also injured in the accident.

It was gathered that the accident occurred at Ehorin Uhunmwode Local Government Area, when a Toyota Hilux van on the Governor’s advance team had a head-on collision with a passenger Audi car.

Our correspondent reports that the advance team were said to be on their way to Ambrose Ali University, AAU, at Ekpoma for the convocation of the university.

It was further learnt that three other survivors were rushed to the Central Hospital in Benin City for medical attention.

To confirm the sad incident, the Edo State Commissioner of Police (CP), Danmallam Mohammed, said the incident was very unfortunate.
