My Impeachment An Illegality - IMPEACHED KOGI DEPUTY GOVERNOR

LOKOJA, KOGI STATE, NIGERIA -  Elder Simon Achuba, the impeached deputy governor of Kogi State on Sunday (today) insisted that his removal by the State House of Assembly remains an illegality.

Elder Simon Achuba further insisted that his purported ouster last Friday by the State Assembly will not stand.

Addressing a press conference in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, Elder Simon Achuba said: “It is an illegality that will not stand the test of the judiciary.”

It would be recalled that the House of Assembly had accused the panel that investigated Elder Simon Achuba of compromise.

Specifically, the House of Assembly had set aside the report of the investigative panel and proceeded to impeach Elder Simon Achuba as deputy to Governor Yahaya Bello.

But at a press conference after moving out of the official residence, Elder Simon Achuba insisted that swearing-in Edward Onoja, former Chief of Staff to the Governor or anyone else “as they are planning will amount to continuation of illegality being perpetrated by Governor Bello.”
