Border closure: House Of Representatives Wants FG To Lift Ban On Sale Of Petrol To Border Communities

ABUJA,  NIGERIA - The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN), through the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) was on Tuesday (today)  called upon to lift the ban on the sales of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) within 20km to the country’s borders.

The call came from the green chamber of the National Assembly  member in a motion of urgent national importance moved by Sada Soli, at the plenary today.

It would be recalled that the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Col. Hameed Ali (retd.), had last Thursday directed that no petroleum products should be supplied to any filling station within 20 kilometres to the borders.
