Go And Die By Hanging, Court Orders Kidnappers Of Lagos Monarch

IKEJA, LAGOS STATE, NIGERIA - Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria,  on Wednesday (today) sentenced to death by hanging, three young men who kidnapped the Oniba of Iba, Oba Yushau Goriola Oseni. 

Those convicted and sentenced accordingly are Duba Furejo alias General Cuba (who is now paralysed), Reuben Anthony and Yerin Fresh.

In handing down the judgment, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo insisted that she found all the convicts guilty of all the charges slammed against them by the Lagos State government, which are armed robbery, attempted murder, murder and kidnapping.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo declared that: “I believe the offence of conspiracy, attempted murder, armed robbery and kidnapping. 

"I therefore find them guilty as charged. This is the judgement of the Court.

"The offences have become prevalent and no one is safe…

“I also state here that sentencing are statutory imposed.

"For causing the death of Sunday Okanlawon and Joseph Okeke a security guard, they were sentenced to death.

“I hereby sentence the offenders to life imprisonment for shooting the Olori, Abosede Goriola in the abdomen.

"Conspiracy to murder - 10 years, conspiracy to commit kidnap - 10 years each, armed robbery – Life imprisonment, kidnappings - 21 years imprisonment. 

"This is the ruling of the Court.

'Sentence to run concurrently."
