LASTMA Officer Battered By Hoodlums In Lagos

APAPA, LAGOS STATE, NIGERIA - Ola Oyeshina, an officer with the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA), was on Friday (yesterday)  evening attacked by hoodlums, while sanitising the Iganmu-Sifax axis of the Apapa access road.

While the attack lasted, Ola Oyeshina, was hauled with a large stone, knocking him down immediately. 

Ola Oyeshina was immediately evacuated to Area “B” Police headquarters where ACP Bayo Sulaimon ordered the detention of two of his attackers who were later arrested. 

Later, a letter of medical referral was issued by the police for medical attention on the victim.

But as a result of the magnitute of the trauma suffered by Ola Oyeshina, he was immediately referred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) from Randle Hospital, Surulere, Lagos State, Nigeria. 

To confirm the development, the Vice Chairman of the Federal Government Task Team on the restoration of order at Apapa, Comrade Kayode Opeifa, said he was with Ola Oyeshina at the Emergency Section of LUTH where he was being attended to, and that he is responding to treatment.
