Lion Found In Victoria Island Residence Tranquilised, Removed - LAGOS GOVERNMENT

VICTORIA ISLAND, LAGOS STATE, NIGERIA - The lion found in a house at the Victoria Island area of Lagos State was on Monday (today) tranquilised by the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit. 

In his confirmation of the tranquilisation and subsequent removal of the lion, the Head, Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, Yinka Egbeyemi, revealed that the lion was removed around 1.30pm.

Yinka Egbeyemi also explained that the Indian owner had yet to honour the invitation of the state government.

According to Yinka Egbeyemi, "Instead, what he did was to send three Nigerians who claimed to be his workers.

“But we are working with them to know where we can find him.

“Our primary concern now is to remove the lion from the house, which we have done.”
