BOLIVIA - The President of Bolivia,  Evo Morales on Sunday (today) resigned his position as the president of the country. 

President Evo Morales resignation came sequel to three weeks of sometimes-violent protests as a result of his disputed re-election after the Army and Police withdrew their backing.

According to former President Evo Morales, “I resign my post as president.”

Former President Evo Morales announced his decision in a televised address, capping a day of fast-moving events in which several ministers and senior officials quit as support for Latin America’s longest-serving president crumbled.
