(NEWSFLASH) Dasuki: It Is Wrong For Courts To Require Civil Servants As Sureties When Bail Is Granted - APPEAL COURT

ABUJA, NIGERIA - The Abuja division of the Court of Appeal on Friday (today) made a declaration that it was wrong for courts to require civil servants to stand as surety when bail is granted.

The Court of Appeal made the declaration in a unanimous judgment delivered by Justice Stephen Adah, while granting the request of the detained National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Mohammed Dasuki (retired) for a variation in the terms attached to the bail earlier granted him.

The three-man Appeal panel also threw out the requirement that Sambo Dasuki should produce a Level 16 civil servant who must own a property worth N100 million within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
