(NEWSFLASH) Kogi Guber Poll: Governor Yahaya Bello Gets Second Term In Office


LOKOJA, KOGI STATE, NIGERIA - The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Kogi State, and incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello,  was on Monday (today) declared winner of the governorship election which took place in Kogi State, Nigeria, last Saturday.

Governor Yahaya Bello was declared winner of the governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which announced that Governor Yahaya Bello polled a massive 406,222 votes to defeat his contestant, Musa Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 189,704 votes to emerge second.

In declaring the result, the Returning Officer for the election and Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Umar, insisted that Governor Yahaya Bello had been declared winner, having scored the highest number of votes during the poll conducted on Saturday.

Professor Ibrahim Umar further stated that the total number of cancelled votes is 149,576, adding that the margin of lead is 216,518.
