ABUJA,  NIGERIA - The Operation Positive Identification,  put together by the Nigerian Army has begun across the country today,  November 1, 2019.

However,  Lt.-General Tukur Buratai, the Chief of Army Staff, informed the legislators that President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi, were in support of the operation.

Lt.-General Tukur Buratai furthe explained that the operation, first launched in the northeast in September, would be conducted nationwide to intercept Boko Haram insurgents who had relocated from their enclaves to other parts of the country.

Lt.-General Tukur Buratai who was represented by the Head of Civil-Military Affairs, Army Headquarters, Major-General U.S Usman, particularly explained that the exercise would not involve movement of troops or their presence in communities.
