Contracts Award: New Imo Governor, Hope Uzodinma Orders Probe Of Former Governors Ihedioha, Okorocha, Ohakim

OWERRI, IMO STATE, NIGERIA - The newly inaugurated governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma has ordered the probe of the immediate past governor of the state, Emeka Ihedioha, and former governors Rochas Okorocha and Ikedi Ohakim. 

The probe, as ordered by incumbent governor Hope Uzodinma is in connection with contracts awarded from 2010 till date in the state.

Senator Hope Uzodinma equally called for the comprehensive financial status of the state within the same period.

It would be recalled that former governors Ikedi Ohakim, Rochas Okorocha and Emeka Ihedioha were in charge of the state during the period.

Governor Hope Uzodinma arrived at the probe decision during his inaugural speech, after he was sworn in.

According to the governor:  “I hereby direct the accountant general of the state to within four days forward to me the comprehensive financial status of the state from May 2010 till date.

“I also direct the permanent secretaries of all the ministries to within the same period toward the status of the contracts awarded within the time frame. Payment of all ongoing contracts is hereby stopped.”
