LAGOS, NIGERIA - Lagos-based lawyer,  and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief Bolaji Ayorinde, on Friday (today) made public that he had a warm personal relationship with the late former governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

It would be recalled that the late former governor Abiola Ajimobi had died on Thursday (yesterday) in Lagos at the age of 70 after battling with his health.

LATE FORMER GOVERNOR OF OYO STATE, SENATOR ABIOLA AJIMOBI

The late Abiola Ajimobi had also held sway as the Oyo State governor from 2011 to 2019, and was named the Acting National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) last week but never resumed.

The late Abiola Ajimobi was specifically admitted in First Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Consultants Hospital, Lagos on June 2, 2020.

The former Oyo governor was equally said to have tested negative for COVID-19 but the illness had caused his health to deteriorate.

However, a statement personally signed by Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN) with the caption: 'The passing of H.E. Sen. Abiola Ajimobi', reads thus:

"I join many of our people to commiserate with Mrs. Florence Ajimobi and the entire Ajimobi Family of Ibadanland on the demise of their father and patriarch.

"I personally enjoyed a warm relationship with him and prayerfully hoped that he would surmount the brief illness.

"May God  uphold his family."
