Edo Governorship Victory: It Would Be Immoral To Return To APC - OBASEKI

The governor-elect and incumbent governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, today (Friday) insisted that it would not be proper for him to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Godwin Obaseki had addressed State House Correspondents after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Nigeria, alongside his deputy, Philip Shuaibu, on a “thank you visit”.

The duo were accompanied by their spouses and some lawmakers from the state.

It would be recalled that Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who defeated  Osagie Ize-Iyamu of Buhari’s APC alongside others to win the last Saturday’s governorship election in his state, had dumped the APC for the PDP when the ruling party disqualified him from participating in its primary election.

There were however concerns that having won the election on the platform of the PDP, he might return to the APC.

However, Godwin Obaseki posited that it would be immoral to do so.
